Welcome to my stream of consciousness
Got your asbestos wetsuit handy?
So who the hell am I, anyways?
I’m Jess. Like it says on the tin. I’ve been fascinated by technology pretty much my entire life; one of my first phrases was “pretty lights” (in reference to Christmas lights), I was tinkering with computer hardware by the age of 10 (in the early 90s, mind you) and am eyeballs deep in tech every day. Hence the “does tech” part of what it says on the tin.

I’m an autistic tech nerd and like to brain dump
I have all sorts of adventures (and misadventures) in tech, from the mundane to the strange. Occasionally I like to share about them. Today, I got the bright idea that, instead of repeating myself ten different times in ten different places and effectively telling ten different stories because I have an aversion to copy-pasting from place to place, I could just set up a blog. So here we are. Thanks for coming this far with me!
So now what?
Honestly? I don’t know. Right now I have a whole lot of Thoughts™ about the php2shell vulnerability that was just discovered a few days ago, and in the process of rebuilding some of my personal servers figured I’d share some of my trials and tribulations. You’ll likely see a couple more posts from me over the next week or two as I direct my hyperactive stream of consciousness into something vaguely resembling an article, and then it’ll probably drop off to next to nothing. I might even go silent for a few months at a time as life lifes at me, but with any luck I’ll be back to share my next adventure.
Oh, also, be prepared for talk of and/or pictures of cats. I love my cats.
Jessica is an obsessive tech nerd who doesn’t let adjectives like “unsupported” or “impossible” deter her. She will readily waste hours or even days on end doing something most people in a field might consider “not worth the effort”, just to do it. Then she’ll get annoyed at how much time it took, basically run a post-mortem, and figure out how to do it quicker next time. She also happens to be autistic, and transgender. No, she doesn’t own programmer socks.
